Spaghetti habla de la familia. A través de la herencia de unos platos, se traza un hilo de memoria que va desde el pasado hasta el momento presente.
La autora empieza así la carta que escribe evocando esos momentos en torno a una mesa y que se incluye en esta publicación:
“Cuando todavía uno no había acabado de digerir el desayuno, mi padre ya nos perseguía intentando averiguar qué nos apetecería comer.
“¡¡A la mesa!!” Gritaba a pulmón vivo.
Primero, esos segundos de silencio donde todos comíamos con desesperación.
De lejos iba llegando la voz de mi madre, que siempre iniciaba algún tema de conversación...”
